UFO

Malmstrom Air Force Base

In 1967 the unthinkable happened. A UFO had been reported hovering over Malmstrom AFB, Montana. This just happens to be where we had our Minuteman Missiles stationed and on alert. They were tucked away neatly at 60 feet below the surface. The officers in charge of launches were down there with the missiles sheltered by huge steel doors and concrete many feet thick. The missiles were always at the ready for a quick launch and there was no way of turning them off from above the ground. The Deputy Missile Combat Crew Commander (DMCCC), Robert L. Salas, Echo Flight, received a call from the sergeant in charge of security to let him know that a UFO was hovering over the base and had came and went several times. Salas didn't take the report seriously and told the sergeant to keep observing. The sergeant called again but was agitated and said the UFO was hovering right over the front gate. Before Salas could answer the sergeant said he had to go because on the girds had been injured. Then the missiles began to shut down. In rapid succession all missiles went from go status to no go status. Normally the only way a missile could go off line was if there was some sort of power outage and then emergency generators would come on, putting the missiles back on alert status. This was not the problem however. There was power, but some sort of signal had been sent to the missiles to shut them down. The guard that had been injured was injured when he approached the UFO but not injured seriously. The no go status lasted for several hours. No of the technicians could find a reason for it. Then several hours later the missiles went back online as mysteriously as they went off. One and one half miles south Oscar Flight experienced the same problem. After a UFO was seen hovering over the area the missiles all went off line, one by one and hours later returned to alert states. There has never been an explanation for what happened. Government investigators say they found nothing and if they did, they are not talking. The following documents are now declassified and posted here for your information:
