The case of the ufo landing at the joint Air Force Base in Rendlesham is one of the most famous and hard to explain ufo incidents that there ever was. Almost everyone knows what happened. The British Government has just released many new ufo documents under their Freedom of Information Act. There is quite a lengthily file on the Rendlesham matter, but before we get into it, let me recap the incident for those that don't know about it. Here is the story in the Deputy Base Commander's own words: Now we have new documents to further delve into this case. I am including the files on this page, they are in pdf format. You will need a pdf reader, such as Adobe Acrobat to read them, if you don't have one, you can download one HERE for free. I have given some of the documents a cursory read and I find some things of interest in them. First of all, the British agencies concerned with defence all claim that they don't have anything on the incident except for the report of Lt. Colonel Halt. They also state (See Ministry of Defence Memo dated 21 August 1985) there is no record of the eyewitnesses ever being questioned. I would like to know how any rational person could ever believe that these military eyewitnesses were never interviewed. The only other thing we could believe by this statement is that the reports were disposed of and I can't believe that either. There is also a note without a date that states that ufo landings were never differentiated from ufo sightings. It's funny how it didn't say there was none, that would have been much easier to say. A letter of several pages in length is contained in the documents, the name of the sender is blocked out but it is from someone who says he is doing research on a book. (letter dated March 8, 1985) He asserts that he some interesting facts and wants some answers to some pointed questions. One fact he claims is that one of the airmen who went out to investigate the craft, revealed under hypnosis that he saw aliens and they floated. He also said that they were from 2 1/2 feet tall to 3 1/2 feet tall with large heads and slits for their mouth, nose and ears and they had eyes like inverted cat's eyes. He had got the impression that the craft needed repair. He also stated that when the airmen got to the craft their shadows shone on it but acted strangely. The author of the letter claimed that everyone was debriefed the next day. This debriefing makes more sense than the statement trying to lead us to believe that no one was questioned. Another claim is made in the letter. It is the claim that when one of the security guards that had gone to the craft in the woods was debriefed he was brought to an area where there was several rooms and in one very large room was a vehicle just like the one that appeared in the woods. Supposedly he was shown movie clips of ufos chasing planes that spanned many years. An then, the letter went on to say, that an alien appeared and explained who he was and why he had come here. The alien had said he was here to educate mankind, but only certain people would receive this knowledge. The alien then said great changes were coming and some had come already and that the aliens had been here for many years. A member of the British Parliament was not scarified with the official reply to the incident and in a letter dated 14 May, 1985 expressed his displeasure. Another interesting point referred to in a dated 26 February 1981 from D J Coumbe, is the fact that when asked for film of the sightings, all of the film was said to be defective and the radar sightings were said to have shown nothing. In a letter dated 15 May, 1985, signature illegible, someone it seems from the Ministry of Defence said they have no knowledge even of the tape recording made by Lt. Col. Halt. |
