UFOs Of Old
Things have been changing on the ufo scene. It may not seem this way at first, but if we look at what was happening in the 1940s and 1950s, it seems that things have quieted down. Some of you may wonder what the heck I am talking about, but it is quite simple really, either the government is able to keep more of what is happening a secret or ufos have gotten a lot less dramatic. A good example of what I am talking about is the event that occurred over the White House in Washington D.C. in 1952. At first operators at Washington National Airport saw blimps on their radar. UFOs were coming in to Washington. Twice jet fighters were called in from Andrews AFB and twice the ufos took off at incredible speeds. At one point many of them gathered rather symbolically over the White House and the capital dome. If they wanted the best exposure they could get, they sure got it. Photos of the event were published in many papers and the event became well know over the entire world. Did this make any difference to us? Not really, as we are still asking the same questions and not getting any answers. Could this have been extraterrestrials asking for contact? Maybe, it sure seems that way to me. The other alternative is that they were showing us that they could do whatever they liked and we couldn't do anything about it. If they truly exist that would still be true today. I wonder how many of us remember, or have heard of the Battle of Los Angeles? In 1942, right in the heart of the Second World War, ufos flew over Los Angeles and the army shot thousands of shells at them from the anti aircraft weapons they had surrounding the city. Many at the time thought that the ufos were Japanese aircraft of some type and panic ensued. Huge spotlights converged on what many say was a huge saucer shaped vehicle. As shells burst all around the ufo, it was quite content to drift across the sky as it seemed to be in no obvious danger. The truth was that a few of the shells exploded in the city and all of the damage done to Los Angeles was done to it by us. Other people had gotten even better views of the ufo. The reason for this is that the ufo hovered over some homes at a low altitude. All the witnesses said that the vehicle was enormous. The ufos had been attacked by planes and ground fire, but it didn't phase them in the least. It might as well have been a calm, sunny day. Was this the same message that was sent again in 1952? Were we being told that we were helpless against these visitors? Now here is a good one for you, In 1954 there was a rash of sightings, but these were not of ufos, they were of aliens. There were hundreds, maybe even thousands, of these sightings throughout the Mediterranean and South America. What were these people seeing? The aliens were described as short and seemed to fit the description of the ever popular grays. The grays are the thin little guys with the dark lifeless eyes and the big heads that have spindly arms and legs. I don't want to get off this subject, but I would like to mention the fact that we have attacked ufos many times. The problem is that you will never see the documents referring to these attacks for obvious reasons. The government certainly doesn't want you to know that they are totally ineffective at defending us from ufos or that ufos even exist. If someone could get hold of these documents I am sure that it would shed an entirely different light on things. We attack them and yet they don't seem to attack back. Why should they, they don't have to, we can no more hurt them then send a spaceship to another star. We have this concept of airspace and if you go into ours you should be attacked. This might be an entirely alien concept to them. They might not see that what they are doing is wrong and if you really think about it, if they are just observing us, is it wrong? There have been some reports that when several ufos were attacked you could actually see the bullets hitting them and yet there was no damage. Maybe this is a good thing, because if we start shooting down ufos they might retaliate and we wouldn't stand a chance. There was at least one casualty from chasing a ufo. In 1948 a ufo was spotted and planes launched. As the ufo rose, all the planes turned back except one. The problem was that the fighter planes didn't have oxygen and were not pressurized. The plane kept trying to catch the ufo and as it rose steadily, the fighter went higher and higher until somewhere around 20,000 feet he was not heard from again. The pilot's name was Mantell and he was lost as his plane dove and crashed. It is believed that it was not the ufo that did anything to the plane, but that the lack of air caused the pilot to blackout and crash the plane. If any planes were destroyed by ufos, we might never know, because of government secrecy. It is said that that the modern wave of ufo sightings began in the late 1890s when airships, as they were called, were being seen all over the world. There were many cases of these machines being sighted floating over cities and farms. Most of the basic shapes reported were the same as the ones reported today. They were usually rocket shaped with windows or saucer shaped. I could be wrong on this point, but it seems that the black flying triangle sightings are relatively new. This type of craft seems to be on the rise with more and more being sighted. As I stated in the beginning of this article, you just don't hear about the things that I discussed above anymore. Today sightings seem to be a lot more tame. Could it be that the government has decided not to chase ufos anymore? This is not so far fetched when you think of the fact that there is nothing that they can do to them anyway. Maybe we have just given up. There is a couple of other things that might have happened though. Maybe the ufos have warned us to stop trying to shoot at them? The other alternative is that we have met the aliens and have reached some sort of agreement. As usual only time will reveal the answer to this question, or maybe not? |
