We just keep finding strange things on Mars. Will the next thing we find be some guy in rags screaming that he is the last of his kind? I am just joking about this, I only mentioned it because it is a common theme in some science fiction movies. Recently, a formation has been found that was flashed all over the news, It seems to resemble a statue of a person sitting down or kneeling, with one arm extended and in the hand seems to be something, perhaps a scroll. When I see something like this so popularized I can't help but think that we might be getting set up. What I mean is that you get built up into thinking that this is genuine and then you are shown that it is just a weird rock and from that point on, you don't believe anything you see that is discovered. It is a sort of disinformation. So far the formation has not been proven to be anything one way or the other and does seem to be a statue. I think that when we look at things like this we have to take them into context and not view them as just an isolated event.

The reason that I think we have to take everything in context is that there are so many claims that artificial objects have been found on Mars. The claims range from pyramids down to pieces of machinery. I couldn't help but think of an ancient Egyptian statue when I saw this photo. I didn't do a lot of research on this, but I did a little Google searching and one of the places that I looked at was the temple at Abydos in Egypt. I looked there because that is where the famous plague is located that shows what some think to be a helicopter, jet plane and ufo. Sure enough there was a relief that was very similar to the statue. I am going to call it a statue from now on if that is okay with you?.

Notice that the raised arm is the right arm, which is the same as the image on Mars. There is even a base under the kneeling figure which is also on the statue on Mars. In the right hand is a Ankh. There is also something in the hand of the statue, although it looks more like a scroll or scepter. The left arm is along the side and on Mars the left arm is not visible. There could be no left arm or it could be folded along the side also.

Could this be a statue of the Egyptian Goddess Isis?

Above is a representation of Isis an Egyptian Goddess, her name means queen of the throne. The relief is from the second century B.C. and I believe it is Greek. Here is the important fact. Her right hand is raised and low and behold, she has what seems to be a scroll in it. Is this just a coincidence or is this a clue? Another thing I noticed was the fact that her left arm is not in view.

I don't know for sure what has just been found on Mars and I am sure that no one can say with certainty that this is absolutely a statue at this point. When the object was discovered by the rover, why wasn't it photographed from the front and other side, it certainly is an interesting object and worthy of a few more snapshots. Like so many other things on Mars, we are given just a taste and no more. One of the advantages of this photo is that since it was taken on the ground, it is a much higher resolution that those photos taken from orbit. If the orbital camera was used, this object would have never been seen since it appears to be too small. Many of the depictions of Isis show her with her right hand and arm raised, but not all.

Let's hope more photos of this statue are forthcoming, but I wouldn't hold my breath knowing NASA's record in these matters.
