The evidence is all around us, ancient astronauts seem to have visited the earth. So what is the problem, why don't people believe this? Unfortunately much of the evidence that shows that they were here is circumstantial and can be interpreted in different ways. One person may see what they think is a spaceman painted on the wall of a cave while another looking at the same picture will see some kind a prehistoric god that was being worshiped. Believing in ancient astronauts is akin to believing in UFOs. By this I mean that no matter how great the evidence might be that one finds to prove that ancient astronauts visited the earth, there will always be those that will ridicule and laugh at anyone who says that this is true. You have to wonder why some ancient races such as the Indians had epic tells of space wars, thousands of years ago in their writings, this does seem strange indeed, because it was so far beyond their technology that you wonder how they could have even thought his way? There are many that say that this ancient space war was not thought up by some vivid imagination and there actually was a war between alien races and it spilled over into the atmosphere around our planet and that the ancient peoples of India actually saw part of this raging battle and wrote about it. When you think about it, this makes a lot more sense since the things that they wrote about were so far beyond them. If they would have seen it with their own eyes than all they had to do was write it down in their own terms.

The cathedral was built in 1102 AD in Salamanca, in Spain. The building is resplendent with intricate carvings both on the outside and on the inside. There is no doubt about it, it is a splendid example of the stonemason's work of this period. Why would I even bring up a cathedral in the middle of Spain in an article that is about ancient astronauts? Maybe it is because near one of the columns there is one of the most intricate carvings of an astronaut wearing a full NASA type spacesuit, including helmet and backpack and even boots with ripples on the bottoms, that has ever been seen anywhere. The astronaut is carved into the floral pattern that goes from top to bottom into what looks like a corner or indentation, into granite. It is strange how the floral pattern seems to flow all the way up to about midpoint where a carving of the Astronaut appears and then continues above him, he is completely out of place. But wait, the floral pattern that I talked about is not really a floral pattern at all, upon closer inspection we see all sorts of things carved into the area, one above another. This is very strange I must say. If we let our eyes travel above the astronaut, then we find a figure of what looks like a baby, above that there is another figure that seems to look like the head of a snake and still further up is the rear end of what seems to be a rat complete with tail. Below the astronaut we see, what might be a Griffin or some other fictitious wild animal. While looking around at the other carved figures in the church we find demons and animals. So why was there an actual astronaut carved into the stone here, how could that possibly be? Sorry I have no way of answering this. Ancient Cave Painting of Astronauts?

As we all know, some people have suspected that ancient astronauts have always been with us since the dawn of man. As evidence of this there are numerous cave paintings that have been found and that could show representations of astronauts. Again I must say I use the word could, because these could also be interpreted as drawings of their gods, after all they were extremely primitive people. There is no doubt that the pictures that they drew were strange and they do resemble aliens of different kinds, but in reality this doesn't prove much. Were there astronauts here in the most ancient of times and why would they even be interested in us in that time? Some say that they were guiding the human race, helping it to become better, both genetically and technically. Could it be that many of the ancient inventions were really their ideas and given to us by aliens? Others believe that the ancient astronauts were really from the earth. Maybe they devolved much faster than the rest of us and could have inhabited a place like Atlantis? The same people even go so far as to state that they are still here and that is who is piloting all the UFOs. They may have evolved along the same path that we have, but only much earlier. For all we know the sculpture on the cathedral at Salamanca, in Spain might be commemorating an Atlantian space hero.

Erich von Daniken was born in Switzerland and is the author of many books dealing with this theory that aliens have come to the earth. He seems to have indicated that aliens not only have visited us on the earth, but they also stayed for a while. He stated, “Our forefathers received visits from the universe in the remote past, even though I do not yet know who these extraterrestrial intelligences were or from which planet they came. I nevertheless proclaim that these strangers annihilated part of mankind existing at the time and produced a new, perhaps the first, Homo sapiens." I don't think I need to have to say that most people don't agree with his theories. Some cite the fact that he didn't finish high school and immediately condemn any view that he could possibly have on anything. I think that this is nothing more than snobbery and he should be heard. A wise man once said that intelligence and education have nothing to do with each other and that you can send anyone to be educated, but they still might not be as intelligent as someone who wasn't educated. von Daniken talked about things that archaeologists don't want to hear. I don't think that there is one archaeologist out there that will ever admit to finding an ancient relic that just seems far too advanced for the race that he got it from. One of the big problems in archaeology is that if something does not fit into the preconceived notion of orderly evolution, it is usually buried in a basement somewhere. No archaeologist wants to show off a stone ax that is estimated to be 30 million years old or a battery that was found inside of a rock, they know that the reputation would be finished.

Before the Internet came into being it was much easier to hide things that you didn't want the public to see than it is today .One of the reasons for this is the fact that if you happen to have been seen putting something away in the basement of a museum and you were an archaeologist, the person that saw you might tell one person or even two and maybe neither one of them would tell anybody else, but today if somebody sees you do the same thing, all they have to do is get onto the Internet and spill the beans on a blog, or chat site and suddenly thousands and maybe even tens of thousands of people know what you did. This is why it is so hard to keep archaeological finds to oneself. In order to counter this you are ridiculed and made to look like a fool. Let me give you an example of what I am talking about . In 1974 a story appeared in the Chicago Daily News. It talked about a meeting that was held to discuss an artifact that was found. The artifact was from 1300 B.C. and was discovered in China in 1930. There was a carving of a pictorial nature on the artifact which was in actuality a piece of elephant bone. A Chinese interpreter was present along with a professor from Hong Kong University and the director of the Academy For Future Science in Los Gatos, California. The characters on the bone had been translated and here is how they read, "A man and woman are shown to be on the third planet from the sun. A higher being arrives on the planet by reversing an energy field, and flying like a bird, displaying qualities of lightning. The being can take on the appearance of earthmen; can combine the qualities of man and bird, and fly like a bird. The 'instrument of means' by which he returns to a distant star system is a rocket-propelled vehicle." There have been detractors who claim that this is nothing more than a hoax, but I have decided to tell you about it, because everything that is found that relates to ancient astronauts is called a hoax by one person or another.

I have talked many times about the picture on the wall in the temple at Abydos. I have to tell you the truth, I have never gotten a satisfactory explanation for the most mysterious picture of all time. The thing that makes it so mysterious is the fact that it seems to show a modern-day helicopter along with other planes and even a classic UFO. But how can this be, this is an ancient Egyptian temple? The temple was built by Seti the first and finished by his son Ramses the second, but they certainly had no idea of what helicopters, jet planes or even UFOs were, or for that matter, what they did? So what do the experts say? Their answer is that there are two overlapping sets of hieroglyphics and this is giving us an allusion known as a palimpsest. Well isn't it funny that this accidental overlapping of hieroglyphics has created so many objects that we can recognize as modern-day machines. I know that when I look at this picture I see a helicopter, a bullet shaped jet plane, another plane with a large tail wing and on the top is either a speed boat or a classic UFO. I also know that coincidences can happen, but what are the odds on something like this? Even if only one of the objects was put in there intentionally, it would rock the scientific world. We know that this would never be allowed to happen, so science just has to write off the entire thing. I personally would love to go through the museum basements of the world. The last great thing that was pulled out of a basement of a museum was the Antikythera Computer, an ancient mechanical computer that set the scientific community on its ear. I have to tell you they don't like that folks.

Since we are on the subject of ancient Egypt, there is another thing that has been found that seems very strange. In one of their many wall paintings, there is a scene with the Egyptians venerating a god, who just happens to look exactly like a Grey. Again, this is another heck of a coincidence. When I start seeing these many coincidences, I can't help but wonder what is really going on? Did the ancient Egyptians ever meet ancient astronauts? Could it be that those pictures on the wall of the Temple at Abydos depict different stages in their evolution and not ours? For all we know, there are other races and they all go through similar stages of development and maybe the aliens were explaining this to the Egyptians and that is where the pictures came from. In any case, it just seems that there is just too much evidence for us to completely ignore it. Warner Von Braun said, "Our sun is one of a 100 billion stars in our galaxy.
