Well the flap over the ufo sighting at O'Hare Airport is still going strong. There is a lot of resentment among the employees, who saw the object hovering in the sky, over the fact that their bosses told them to keep quiet or be fired. I know that I certainly wouldn't want someone telling me that, after I saw a ufo. Imagine seeing what is usually a once in a lifetime event and you can't even talk about it. At least one poor quality photo has been released. The explanation for the poor quality is that it was taken with a cell phone. There are many people arguing about whether the photo is genuine or not. Not much is visible except the vague saucer shape. The U.S. government is said to not be investigating the incident. Not many people realize it, but the first reporting of a ufo sighting was by the Pilgrims in Boston in 1644.

There have been quite a few reports of a ufo sighting that took place in Iran. These sightings were not the type where you see a ufo and in a couple of seconds it is gone. This ufo was able to be observed for over an hour and was visible in western Iran for exactly one hour and twenty minutes on 17 January, 2007. Two days before in almost the exact same place a ufo was also sighted. Another strange event took place when reports of a ufo crashing came in to the central government. It was said that on the same January 17th, 2007 a crash of a ufo took place. A government official said it was not an aircraft that crashed. Could it have been a meteor? This has not been ruled out by some, but most people believe it wasn't a meteor. The reason they don't think it was a meteor, is that it was on fire before the crash with thick smoke coming out of it. Even stranger is the report that a second crash had taken place near the city of Rafsanjan several days before. What is going on here?

The biggest ufo deal is still the announcement by the French that they are going to put their ufo database online. The public will have access to all the reported sightings for the last 30 years or so, at least that is what we are led to believe. A not so exciting announcement was made by the French that the project will be delayed. The target date for internet access to the database was mid February 2007, but they have now announced that it will be delayed to at least mid March 2007. Nick Pope who handled ufo reports for the Ministry of Defense in Britain said that he hopes this will spur the British to do the same thing.

A retired Air Force pilot, a colonel, claims that he saw a ufo hovering over a town in Arkansas. He had observed lights that didn't descend and just floated there. He went on to say that he got some photos and as he observed the lights he realized that they were not from any aircraft on this world, they also changed colors. He also stated that he felt a kind of energy. Several others made sightings at different times that lasted for different durations. The former pilot claimed he had plenty of time to get a good look since his sighting lasted for one and a quarter hours. Some observers saw orbs while others just lights. What must have capped it off for him was the fact that the lights kept changing patterns. One time they might form a triangle another time the lights stacked one on top of the other. The Air Traffic Controllers were contacted and stated that no aircraft were visible on radar.

Not to be outdone, strange lights appeared in the sky in South Carolina. The lights appeared at about 8 p.m. in the sky. Some of the lights were blue and others green. The sightings took place on January 23, 2007. Dozens of telephone calls were made to officials all over the state. Many people reported that they thought an object was falling and going to crash, but this never happened.

Last year was a sort of slow year for ufo sightings, but this year is starting off with a bang. It is one thing to have people seeing ufos, but it is quite another to have them appearing in busy areas causing sightings on purpose. The O'Hare sightings are particularly important since the area where the object was in had many expert witnesses. Several pilots were among those who saw this ufo. It is almost like someone piloting a ufo said, you know what, I am going to give people an eyeful and make an appearance that can't be denied. Many people are hoping that this is going to lead to a contact of some sort. But there are those that think that our governments have already been in contact with aliens. If this is the case, what would be the purpose of the O'Hare ufo? It couldn't be just to study the people at the airport, it probably could have done this from orbit, if it is as advanced as we all think. No, this makes one think that if ufo are vehicles from space than they haven't made contact yet. This event made the daily news papers and tv which is quite unusual for a ufo sighting.

As for the ufo reported by the retired Air Force Colonel, a digital lab examined his photos and while they all seem to be balls of light, the lab claims that they detected a shadowy figure in them that looks like he is sitting at a console flying a craft. I have seen these photos and while it is possible that they are right, it is also possible that they are wrong. The photo does look creepy though, I have to hand it to them. It looks like all they did was enlarge one of the disks of light and enhance the elements that control contrast.

The Iran sightings are a whole other ball game. First of all, would you expect two ufo crashes in a few days? Secondly the ufos reported are small and ball size. How does one account for this? As for the crashes, if we were trying out our new surveillance drones which we have been vigorously developing, a couple might crash as they are relatively new. The second thing is that they fit the size parameter. Thirdly, wouldn't we want to monitor Iran as closely as possible? We would be more than glad to let them think that ufos were observing them, it takes the heat off of us.
