UFOs, we hear about them all the time. Many people who talk about them say that our Earth is being invaded and that the invasion has been going on for years. I often wonder how you can have an invasion and yet have no sign of it? Has anyone ever seen anything destroyed by a saucer shaped object or perhaps one that is shaped like a cylinder with windows on both sides? What about an object that is shaped like a black triangle, has anyone ever seen one of these babies blazing away at any targets on Earth? If this is a secret invasion, how come ufos are seen all the time? You would think that this would be a covert operation. On the other hand, since we seem to have no way of destroying a ufo, what difference does it make if they are seen?

The people that insist that we are being invaded cite different factors as proof of this invasion. One of the first things that they talk about as evidence of an invasion is Men In Black. Men In Black are those men that wear black suits and knock on your door and intimidate you, if they think you are going to talk about a ufo sighting that you made, or aliens that you might have seen. They usually threaten you with bodily harm or death if you don't comply with their wishes about secrecy and seem to indicate that they are working for the government. A very famous person once stated that he actually saw a car appear from nowhere in a parking spot in a big metropolitan city in the U.S. and that Men In Black got out. Then he said that for some reason they got back in and he saw the car vaporize into thin air again. The theory on these guys is that they are aliens, not government employees and are either working with government approval or not. They seem to be charged with the task of keeping discussion down on ufos. All that I have said is based on the fact that many people have been visited by individuals dressed in black. Sometimes it has been reported that these people have even traveled in black helicopters.

Another thing that they cite is the inordinate amount of ufo crashes all over the world. We have no way to prove that even one crash was that of a ufo, because there is so much secrecy out there, but we just keep hearing stories of these crashes. According to these sources we are able to shoot down a ufo once in a while and they claim that there have been a few malfunctions that account for other crashes. It makes you wonder how a culture like ours could destroy a vehicle that is capable of crossing millions of miles of space, connect with a mother ship and then fly perhaps thousands of light years. Wouldn't you think that they would be so advanced that we would have nothing that they couldn't avoid? So we can launch a rocket at them, big deal. To a race or races such as these, a rocket speeding toward them would seem like molasses dripping from a glass. They could avoid it anytime they wanted. As for crashes due to mechanical failure, I guess if enough ufos came to a planet, sooner or later, you might get a crash.

The talk is that there are many different races from different planets coming here in their ships and the ships contain all different levels of technology. Of course, all the different levels of technology are way ahead of anything we have on this planet. According to what most people think, there are three types of alien civilizations and maybe even four and they are aptly classified as Type I, Type II, Type III and Type IV. These classifications are known as the Kardashev scale. Type I is a civilization that can harness all power available on their planet. The planet is at about at 3/4 of a Type I. Type II denotes a civilization that can harness the power of a star. A Type III civilization would be able to harness the entire power of a galaxy. Even a Type II civilization would be way beyond anything we could imagine A.TYPE IV civilization would be colonizing their local super cluster and using black holes for transit.

Some people like to use time scales and say things like Type II societies are 10,000 years ahead of us and have been around at least 10,000 years longer than us. This might not be the case. As I have said in the past, humans may have been around before. For all we know, this could be the second or third time we have reached this level of technology, we could easily have been wiped out or have wiped ourselves out. It could be the case that a younger civilization from a far off planet has reached a level of technology much faster than us because they concentrated on advancing technology instead of spending huge sums on wars.

If one believed that we were being invaded, what type of civilization would be the aggressor? Well, it couldn't be a TYPE I, they are not capable and I don't think it would be a TYPE IV. Why would such an advanced race bother with such a backwater planet like this? That leaves TYPE II and TYPE III civilizations. TYPE III civilizations seem also to be too advanced to want to bother with us, so that leaves only TYPE II civilizations. These types of civilizations might be looking for new planets to colonize or conquer. We might be at this stage in about 500 years or more at our current rate of technological advancement. Some people believe that it will take us a lot longer to reach this type, I don't because the rate of technology advancement is increasing exponentially. Just because it took us about 50 years from the invention of the transistor to the implementation of dual core chips, doesn't mean it will take another 50 years for the next big break through. For all we know, we could have quantum computers in the next 25 years or less. As our tools get much better, our ability to discover new ways to travel through space will increase.

There are so many stories out there about how aliens now have bases on this planet and how the government knows about them, but can't really do anything about it. I am sure that if there were alien bases on Earth, we wouldn't be able to do anything. It would be like cavemen trying to fight a modern army or maybe even worse. I can tell you this, I am sorry, but I don't really believe that aliens have bases here. I do believe that there are many unexplained things in our skies, but this is a far cry from bases. Has the government been contacted by aliens? This is a much harder question to answer. First of all, it might be possible to contact us without ever sending spaceships. It could be done by some sort of communication. Are we being conquered? Nah, it could have been done many years ago by being capable of building and flying ships from other planets, but it hasn't been done. If indeed ufos contain aliens, it is much more likely that they are just observing us. For all we know, they might think that we are an example of a sick civilization and are studying us to see what went wrong so that they can correct it in other races. This I could understand. Try and look at this planet with a dispassionate eye. We kill each other at an alarming rate, we starve each other, we constantly declare war on each other and we hate each other. Maybe these social disorders are being studied. It could be that they are not well understood by other races. Maybe most races that reach our current stage of development have long conquered these problems.

It could be that we are considered like a virus to people from other worlds and they want to keep the infection confined to the planet Earth and the local solar system and if we ever try to get out into interstellar space they will stop us rather than take a chance in letting us spread our problems to other worlds.
