Superhuman Powers
Hercules Kills The Hydra Some people seem to have powers that are out of the ordinary. I remember seeing a person allow over 10,000 volts to go through their body and light up a huge searchlight. There were people present that were qualified to examine everything and observe the event and they stated that it was really happening. Maybe others could do this, but I know that I sure wouldn't want to try. Then there was the skinny kid who saw his family member get run over by a car, rushed out and actually picked the car off of him. Ordinarily this kid probably couldn't lift 100 pounds, but in the excitement of the accident, he lifted the front end of a car weighing over 3,000 pounds.
I think that many of us have heard about people that were employed by the U.S. government, that had special powers that allowed them to see things that were thousands of miles away. They were called remote viewers. Certain types of test were given to select candidates for training in this area. Some really astounding results were reported. The U.S.S.R. also had remote viewers. If we take these results as truth and try and figure them out by percentage, meaning how many people in the world population could have this power, we would certainly get quite a very very small percentage of the population. Another thing to remember is that not all the results of remote viewing were successful. Supposedly there was a Canadian gentlemen that possessed some sort of special vision. I say supposedly, because I have no way of verifying the fact, but neither do I have any reason to think that he was a fraud. He didn't know what was happening to him, because he was in pain, so he went to a doctor that prescribed sleeping pills. The helpful effects were only temporary. Then it happened, he was walking across a field with his cousin and he felt that he was standing over a large deposit of underground water. He told his cousin that it was 70 feet down. Not content to only give this information, he added that it ran over a slate deposit that was 3 inches thick. He was almost 100% correct. The water was 71 feet down and the slate was 4 inches thick. People began to hire him to look for water and he was responsible for finding over 600 wells. There have been others that seem to have this ability. One man seemed to have the power to attract lightning. I don't think this is a power that anyone in his, or her right mind would want. He didn't want it either, but he had no choice, he had it. Seven times he was struck by bolts and survived. The first time he was hit was in 1942. He was in a fire lookout tower, when a bolt of lightning hit him in the leg and blew off one of his toe nails. The second time he was struck was in 1969, when he was driving his truck. The bolt knocked him unconscious and burned his eyebrows. The third time he was struck was in 1970. He went out into his front yard and a lightning bolt hit him in the shoulder. In 1972 he was struck a fourth time, when he was in a ranger station. His hair went on fire. By now he believed that God was trying to kill him. Poor guy. The fifth time he was struck was in 1973 when he was hit in the head by a lightning bolt. He was in his car and got blown out and his hair went on fire again. In 1974 he was struck again for the sixth time while he was in a campground. He saw a cloud and tried to run from it, but a bolt of lightning came out and hit him in the ankle. The last time he was struck was in 1977. He had gone fishing when a bolt hit him. He was hospitalized with burns. OUCH! There was an American Indian medicine man that was born in 1565, he was Passaconaway. He was the holy man of the Pennacook Indians. It is said that he could do many miraculous things. His tribe stated that they saw him actually change into fire and water and that he routinely moved large rocks without touching them. His powers were said to extend throughout nature. He could will trees to move and sway. Indians were not the only ones to see some of these fantastic feats, Englishmen were sometimes present. One time there was a very wide stretch of water. It was far too wide to swim across under water. Passaconaway, in front of a crowd of Indians and Englishmen, swam under the water and wasn't seen again until he got out on the other side. Another time he took a bowl of water and on a hot summer's day, placed it in front of him. As he started to pray, a cloud formed above it and thunder was heard, then a large chunk of ice was formed in the bowl. Did he have some sort of special power? I have talked about this before, but I would like to mention it again. Savants have extraordinary powers, the problem with this is that they had to give up some or all of the things that most of us can do routinely. Oh, they didn't give these things up voluntarily, I am sure that they would do anything to be normal, but the fact remains some of them are extraordinary in their own ways. Some, that can't even feed themselves, can listen to a complex piece of music once and then play it perfectly. Others can paint as well as some of the old masters, while still others can memorize anything, even the phone book from a large city. Some people have superman human powers that enable them to survive tragedy. An example of this was a stewardess that was in the tail section of a Czechoslovakian Airline, when it blew up at 33,000 feet. She fell the entire distance in the tail and lived. This is like the World War II pilot that had to jump from about 10,000 feet without a chute or be burned to death. He survived the fall. What makes these people so special? Could it be that someone or something was looking after them? If you are just an average Joe, or Jane and would like to have superhuman strength, you could join the U.S. Army. A new suit that has an exoskeleton structure will be able to give any soldier that wears it, superhuman strength. Another features full body armor and the inventor claims that it is the first ballistic, full exoskeleton body suit of armor. Nicknamed the Trojan, it weights only 40 pounds, which is less that a pack on a soldier's back. There is a Japanese suit that will allow the wearer to lift two times the weight he or she can normally lift. The suit was developed by Kanagawa Institute of Technology. Well I guess we can't all have superhuman powers, or can we? |
