Reverse Speech
Graphic Source: Clipart.com modified We have all heard about it. Hidden messages in songs and speeches that you hear when you play the recordings backwards. Some call this the work of the devil. I guess these are the same type of people who would have burned the authors at the stake a few hundred years ago. Do these messages actually exist or are they some sort of phenomena when certain words are stated, one after the other, then played back backwards? There are some credible people that claim that reverse speech is a natural thing. They go on to state that small children, as young as four months old, who are trying to learn how to talk, pronounce many simple words backwards. It's claimed that when some young children's noises were recorded and played backwards they were words like mommy. Even strings of words were discovered such as please daddy help and hug me. Can this be true, do many children learn speech backwards? It seems that some do. It might be interesting to record your young child's noises and play them backwards to see if your young child is talking more than you suspect. Are you subjected to reverse speech in some of the movies that you view? I don't have any examples of any movies in particular that used reverse speech but there are people that claim that a few do and that you are being subjected to reverse messages. I say who cares, I can't understand them anyway. My feelings are not shared by some people who worry that somehow these messages will get into our subconscious and we will act out without even knowing we are doing it. Could we be subject to messages in reverse that state drink a certain kind of soft drink or smoke cigarettes, they are good for you? Hey that might account for all the women smoking lately. The advertisers could have a field day with this. The thing is, there is no evidence that even if the messages exist, that they actually have any effect on any of us. Knowing this, I sort of doubt that any commercials are hidden in the sound track. Companies are not known for throwing their money away. The art of putting backwards messages into sound track is known as Backmasking. Some heavy metal recording have backmasking in them. One goes on to state that "the music is reversible but time is not.......". Why anyone would want to put this message into their music is beyond me. One famous group even congratulates you when you play their song backwards. They tell you that you have found their secret message. Backwards messages have become a sort of game with some musical groups. Some say that discovering words when playing recordings backwards is no big deal. They go on further to state that if you play enough recordings this way, you are bound to come across sounds that seem to be words and it is just the operation of the law of averages that is working. This does sound reasonable but it doesn't account for the fact that maybe some backwards words were put into a recording on purpose. How would you know? As I said before, we know that some musical groups do this on purpose so who is to know if anyone else is doing it? One reverse speech researcher, perhaps the most famous in this field, thinks that reverse speech is a form of unconscious communication. He believes that our conscious mind is receiving backwards messages from our unconscious mind about four times a minute. He also feels that the unconscious mind is much different than the conscious in that it is much more honest and full of hidden meanings. Could our unconscious minds be the real power behind each one of us? He goes on further to state that the message received by our conscious mind is then reversed. This would mean that we all think backwards, could this be true? Going deeper into the meaning of all this, he says that the state of our souls and our relationship with God can be ascertained from our reverse speech patterns. Does backward speech serve any purpose in the real world? Some say that there are top executives that have learned it and it has come in very handy for them. How could this possibly be? Well, it is really just a code after all is said. If several people are in a room and the assistant wants to say something to the executive and he doesn't want anyone to understand it, he can use backwards speech. Indeed it is claimed that such was the case when an assistant to an executive found a reason that the executive shouldn't sign a certain contract that he was about to put his John Henry on. In that case, knowing backward talk saved the company millions of dollars. Backward talk is a lot safer than using any traditional language since you just might be in the company of someone that speaks the particular language that you want to use. You may not want to say something like "he's a fraud" in front of someone but you might say "s'eh a duarf", he could also be a lot safer for you. EVP is electronic voice phenomena. When a paranormal investigation is made, recording devices are sometimes left on at the scene of the haunting. Later they are played and sometimes a ghostly message will be on them even though nothing may have been heard at the site. There are other times when something is recorded but is sound like gibberish. Sometime if this gibberish is played backwards, a message is discovered. Could it be that there are ghosts that are leaving us backwards talk messages? Apparently some people think so and they claim that they have the recordings to prove it. I leave it to you, my friends, to decide what is going on here. Does this phenomena. actually exist or is it just something we think we hear when we play tapes and cds backwards? |
