There sure is some strange weather out there at times. From biblical times to now, strange weather phenomena has puzzled us. Of course in biblical times we can say that miracles were taking place when certain things happened like manna falling from heaven. But what did the people say a hundred years ago when frogs were falling on their heads from the sky? Almost everything you can imagine has fallen from the sky at one time or another, well not everything! I think you know what I mean though. Its no fun, when you are out on a nice clear day and hail the size of golf balls starts falling not only denting cars but denting you, if you are not careful.

In 1999 a report appeared where an employee of a certain large military contracting corporation stated that the military had weather modification weapons. He stated that US Air Force Jets spray the clouds with a material that looks like cob webs or angel hair. He said he became sick after contact with the material. There are many people who believe that something evil is involved with contrails. Contrails are the trails left by jet planes in the sky. Maybe they are right because this employee thinks this is how they spray. It may also be that HAARP a government project in Alaska which bores holes in the atmosphere is also affecting the weather.

El Nino is a strange weather phenomena The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration calls it a disruption of the ocean-atmosphere system in the Tropical Pacific having important consequences for weather and climate around the globe. An August 2004 report by the climate prediction center/NCEP states that the ocean in the central equatorial Pacific is abnormally warm. It is uncertain what effect this will have on the weather pattern along the coast of South America.

There is a weather predicting device that has been used since 1750, it is called the Stormglass. It was used on the HMS Beagle when Charles Darwin made his famous voyages in the 1830s. No one is quite sure how the Stormglass works, even today. It is suspected that electromagnetic changes effect it. If the liquid is clear in the Stormglass the weather will be fair and dry, if the liquid is cloudy, the weather will be cloudy and it might rain. If there are small crystals building up then it will be cold and stormy. If the crystals are starting to disappear then the weather will be warmer. If you see falling crystals inside the glass there will be frost. I must say that I have no info on the accuracy of this device.

In the year 2000, on a clear October morning, it was reported that it was raining in another area. This wouldn't have been so strange except the area was only about 5 X 10 feet. All around this area the sun was shining. Stranger than the weather is the fact that if you do a search for strange weather on the internet, using dogpile.com you will get an entry that states that Ebay has Strange Weather for sale. It also states that Ebay has a huge selection. I can't help but find this very funnyl. Of course they must be referring to the band, but I haven't checked.

It a strange weather twist, Lesotho in Africa had failing crops. It seemed that it rained way too early, then not again until the crops failed. In between there were hail storms and an early frost that killed many sprouts. This caused a famine. The people couldn't get over the fact that frost had appeared in the summer, this had never happened before. Some scientists think this may be the beginning of a global climate change.

Speaking about global changes in weather, I remember when the weather was completely different. When I was a child in Brooklyn, NY, in the 1940s, it would be so cold around Thanksgiving that we would put the cider on the fire escape of the tenement and it would freeze solid. It would snow so much that the snow was pilled up so high it reached the second story of our building. As kids we loved to climb up on it. Today in the same area it is still warm by Thanksgiving. The snowfall usually doesn't reach anywhere near the proportions that it used to. The ice shelf is beginning to melt and eventually, if this keeps up, the low land areas around the world that are on the coastlines or islands will begin to flood.

There is no denying the fact that the weather pattern has changed.
