Violent Haunting

There are many places all over the world that are considered haunted by some one or some thing. I can't say everyone believes in haunted places, clearly there are many that don't. Those that don't believe in ghosts or spirits, contend that anything of this nature that happens, is either a hoax or caused by natural phenomena. There is no doubt that there are probably more hoaxes that involve the paranormal than almost anything else. Most of the time they are carried out for financial gain, sometimes as a joke and sometimes just for the heck of it. Then there are those other times when certain out worldly things are constantly being seen by reputable people. Sometimes they appear over and over. An example of this is the floating museum, the Hornet Aircraft Carrier. People that work there are constantly seeing spirits and there doesn't seem to be any explanation for it. I really don't know how I feel about these things. I tend not to believe in ghosts or spirits and have seen a few hoaxes in that department, but what can you say when people swear that they constantly see full bodied transparent figures walking down gangways and onto decks and then disappearing. When it happens in the night there is certainly nothing to be gained by this sort of thing, because the only ones that see them are a few watchmen. In the case of the Hornet it happens day and night and spirits have been spotted by many people.

Some people are almost set up to be spirits that haunt their former residences, when they die. Look at Edgar Allan Poe, he wrote some of the scariest horror stories of all time, so it was only natural that people would swear they saw his ghost as soon as he died. If you lived a creepy life, you can almost be assured that someone will say that they saw your ghost. If a great battle took place in a particular spot and a lot of people died, you can bet that the area will be said to be haunted. Same for castles. For some reason, many if not almost all castles are said to be haunted. There was always someone that lived there that met a tragic end or was very cruel. This is the stuff of ghost tales my friends. Having made this point lets look at some violent hauntings.

I wonder how many of you have ever seen the movie An American Haunting? It is said to have been taken from a true story where a ghost was responsible for killing someone. Supposedly this is the only time in recorded American history that this has ever happened. The Bell family had moved to Tennessee for better farmland. The children soon complained that there were noises and that they could hear movements. The next problem that the children had was that their bed clothes were regularly being pulled off them and throw on the floor. Everyone in the family began to hear a very guttural voice. The youngest girl then had her face slapped and her hair pulled, but no one could be seen in her room. A voice later became clearer and it was quoting from the bible and talking about events that were happening far away from the farm. Sometimes the voice would sing, but still nothing was visible. It got so bad and became so famous that Andrew Jackson decided to see these events for himself. He was still a long way from being elected president at the time. It was like a circus atmosphere. As his wagon and horses got close to the house, it just stopped and no amount of beating the horses would move it. There was no apparent cause for this to happen, the wheels were not in holes or ruts. Next the men were all told to dismount their horses and help in pushing the wagon, but even with horses pulling and men pushing it wouldn't budge. Nothing could move the wagon until a mysterious voice said that the wagon could go, then it just started to move again. That night one older gent in the party began to brag about how he was a witch killer and everyone just egged him on. After a long time of bragging and story telling, where the man had made himself out to be some kind of hero, the witch appeared. She told the old guy to shoot her, so he leveled his pistol at her, but it wouldn't fire. Again and again he tried, but with the same result. The witch said that now it was her turn and began to slap the poor guy with hard cracks across the cheeks, knocking him over. She then beat him out of the camp while all watched. She said that she would be back tomorrow to expose the next coward. Jackson's men told Jackson that they had enough and the entire camp packed up and left the next day including Jackson himself. The witch had put a curse on Jack Bell, the master of the house in which she summoned up ghosts and deamons to taunt the Bells and had him waste away and die. Yes there had been ghosts, evil ghosts but the story states they had been put there on purpose.

Orbs, orbs, orbs. You see a lot of these things in photographs. Many people claim that orbs are only dust particles that light is reflecting off of. I even have an orb photograph posted on this site under photographs. It was taken in a cemetery and is full of orbs. Well I don't think that anyone is 100% sure what causes orbs in photos, it may be attributed to many different things. but the orb that attacked a paranormal researcher was no piece of dust, that is for sure. It is said that the orb almost took the eye out of the guy. Here is supposedly what happened. While doing an investigation of a haunting, the investigator was confronted by a large orb. He couldn't resist walking over to it because true investigators are always fascinated by the unknown. When he got near the orb, it exploded into a blinding light, damaging his left eye. What happened that day and why?

Evil Spirit

One person living on the west coast of the United States claims that an evil ghost is living in her home. A benevolent spirit also lives in the home and tries to protect the occupants from the evil one. This sounds like a paranormal version of good cop, bad cop. According to the occupant of the home, the evil ghost has tried to burn the house down several times. The evil ghost has been seen many times by the home's occupant and her friends. It is said to look like the figure of a man with burns all over his body. The protective ghost has also been seen by these people and it is a middle aged woman that usually sits in a rocking chair and smiles when you look at her, or at least that is what they say. Here is an interesting point, The evil ghost was traced back and found to have also owned a business. When that business was contacted, the owner stated that it was haunted and that things would often fly off of the shelves by themselves.

Are there really ghosts? I don't know for sure, do you? I do know that sometimes strange things happen and no cause can be found. Whether they are being caused by spirits or some other thing is the question, isn't it? I mean how do you explain the fact that electrical cords are pulled out of their sockets every night. I am not talking about one falling out, but maybe eight or nine cords? I can't explain that one and it happened in my home for about one month and there was no one else available to do it? I am not saying that it was a spirit of any kind, I am only saying that it was strange, VERY STRANGE.
