And Now For A Little Paranormal
Are These Ghosts Captured In The Background? I read an interesting article on the internet the other day. Supposedly there is a little village in Spain that experienced some very strange activity starting in 1971. A face in the form of an impressionist painting appeared on the kitchen floor. The owner of the house was very disturbed and ripped up the floor boards and replaced them with cement. It wasn't long before a different face appeared on the floor. Now here is the thing that makes it even stranger, the face was said to be expertly painted as if a master artist had painted it. The owner of the home had the floor torn up several times because he felt that something under the floor was causing this. Several new cement floors were put down and several faces appeared. Most people would think that someone was sneaking in and painting this face, but samples of the face were sent to a lab. Guess what? Only ingredients that make up cement were found, there were NO traces of paints or dyes! The owner of the house decided that he would get rid of the face on the floor and tried everything he could think of. Sounds of wailing were said to come from the facial area. The house was examined by scientists and other investigators and tapes were even made of the sounds. Different chemicals were used on the face, but they had no effect. It was noticed that if a face was left alone long enough, it would eventually disappear on it's own. As far as I know, no explanation has ever been found for the faces. Have you ever noticed that in a lot of cemetery photos that are taken at night, there are areas of light or balls of light in the photos? I remember a photo taken by my son in a cemetery that was taken at night and there were no lights in the area, yet there was a bright ball of light on one of the headstones, when we looked at the photo. We really didn't know what caused it and were quite surprised to see it. Some people say that if you use a digital camera, the flash can shine off a piece of dust and make it seem like a light. Maybe this was the case, but maybe it wasn't. There is a cemetery near Nashua in New Hampshire that the locals have named Blood Cemetery. The real name is Pine Hill Cemetery. No, the blood in blood cemetery does not refer to human blood, but to a person who was named Abel Blood. Abel Blood was buried in 1867. His headstone has a hand with a finger pointing to heaven at the top center. The people in the area claim that in the daytime the finger point UP, but at night it points DOWN. Ouch Abel, hope all is well. There are many photos of so called ghosts on the internet. Before there was an internet this kind of stuff was very rare. Thanks to the internet, the rare has become common in some cases. All one has to do is put up one so called ghost photo on a popular site and millions of people might see it. In the past, if someone had one of these photos, only a few people had the chance to view it. Even photos that were published in books didn't get the exposure that the internet can give. This is one of the things that I find so different today from years past. James Dean had been a Hollywood idol. He had rocketed to stardom even thought he had only made a couple of movies before he died. Many people say that Dean's car is cursed. He was driving a Porsche spider when he was killed. It was very flashy and had numbers painted on the sides. The fact that Dean was going a hundred miles per hour or more, when he collided with another car, didn't help. After Dean's death, his car was being transported by truck when the truck got into an accident, throwing the driver out of the cab. Dean's car broke loose and fell on the driver crushing him instantly. Wow this was really freaky. Dean's car was put on exhibit and was so popular that it was decided to send it to other states. A boy was looking at the car exhibit one day, when the bolts holding the car in place broke and the car came down from it's pedestal and ran the boy over. You have to remember that the Porsche was a light car and only weighed about 1,500 pounds. His legs were crushed. When the car was being transported to a new exhibition site, it snapped it two and slid onto the pavement and caused a fatal accident. The car's owner had enough. He decided to send the car back to California by train and had it put into a boxcar and a seal put on the door. When the train arrived at it's destination, the seal was intact and opened as was the door, but the car had disappeared. Ghost lights are lights that have been sighted for hundreds and some say thousands of years and that don't have a source that is visible. It is said that a small ghost light means that a child is about to die while a large one means that the death of adult is about to take place. The lights usually have a way of moving and dancing. In some areas, almost all the residents have seen these lights at one time or another. Samuel Marsden died in 1838, in Windsor, Australia. If you look at his credentials, it doesn't seem that he would be the type of person to haunt anything, after all the man had been a chaplain and missionary, among other things. Yet, there are many reported sightings of the man's ghost. He has been sighted at night usually near the St. Matthews Church rectory in Windsor. One man described him as looking very cruel and wearing robes. If we look into the life of Marsden a little deeper we find out that he was called the flogging parson. Now things are beginning to make a little more sense. The ghost appeared a second time to the same person, but in the center of town and in front of other witnesses. It was said that it materialized out of thin air. The ghost was sighted again dressed like a farmer and standing by a newly built highway. Windsor just might be a good place for a full blown ghost investigation. Ghosts are an interesting topic. Some people believe in them, others don't and still others say they don't but wouldn't be caught dead, excuse the pun, in a so called haunted house. If someone believes in ghosts than they have to wonder why people like the ones that have been trying to contact Houdini never succeeded. On the other hand there are plenty of people that claim to have seen ghosts and even taken photos, video and recordings of them. I guess we will always have the idea of ghosts with us no matter how advanced we get. |
