Vortex What is a vortex? This is not the first time I went into this question. There are many definitions for this phenomena, some define something like the swirling you seen in your tub when the water is emptying out, while others have to do with drawing into it's center. The definition I am referring to is a naturally occurring visual and perceptual phenomena. Some people say that it is a connection between two worlds or two dimensions. There is a place, a building, in Oregon, that has a vortex that can be photographed. Indians used to call this area the forbidden ground. Even before an assay office was built on the spot there were many rumored goings on in the area that seemed to defy natural laws. When there was a heavy rain storm around 1911, give or take a year or two, the assay office slid down a hill on a sea of mud and still stands in that spot today. People who visit the office claim to get a very queasy feeling. It is said that all of your perspectives are off. Things that are one one side of the room, that are the same size as things on the other side, seem to be much bigger. Even cameras record this strange result as they also do the vortex. Some companies are claiming that they produce a vortex tube that can take ordinary compressed air and it will either be heated or cooled by the time it comes out the end of the tube without the use of other devices or chemicals and it doesn't use electricity. Even if I believed that this device worked, the compressed air needed a compressor which was either electric or gasoline powered to compress the air, so energy was required and maybe even more energy that is required for an ordinary heater or air conditioner of similar size. Another area where vortexes are said to be present is Sedona, Arizona. In this beautiful land of monumental natural rock structures it is said that several vortexes reside. Many have claimed to have felt the effects of a vortex which has been described as slightly magnetic and unlike electricity. People have claimed that some are more sensitive to the effects of a vortex than others. Vortex sites have frequently been areas that have claimed a lot of ufo sightings. These areas are not limited to these sighting however and some are also the location of supposed paranormal activity. The Sedona vortexes were strictly indian until about 1876, when the first white men arrived in the area. According to history, these men knew nothing about any vortexes and it wasn't until the 1960s that they were discovered. Another area that is famous for it's vortexes, perhaps more famous than anywhere else, is the Bermuda Triangle. Many a ship and plane has been said to have been trapped in a giant vortex and disappeared. Whether anyone has actually see this happen is certainly open to discussion, but folk law being what it is, suggests that this is not an uncommon occurrence in this area. The Bermuda Triangle is responsible for legends of many strange disappearances and paranormal activity, such as ghost ships and the like. Nature does contain vortexes and most of us have seem them, they are called tornadoes. They are not doorways to any dimension or time but are very powerful storms. If they are over the ocean they are called water spouts. A sort of magnetic vortex has never been proven. A vortex composed of plasma has never been seen even though some claim to have photographed it. It is an easy matter to aim the camera at a light and move it while photographing. This gives one an indistinguishable object that you could call anything. Some people believe that the Earth is covered with vortexes and ley lines. Ley lines are alignments of places of geographical interest. An example of this are ancient megaliths. Are some of these monuments aligned with each other because of the location of vortexes? It is also said that there is an Earth Grid where flow lines of gravity from the Earth exist. Some of the ancients believed this as do some present day people. One area where lines came together is the area of Lake Ontario, Canada. The amount of plane crashes that occur there are way above the average for other areas and in 1950 the U.S. Navy began Project Magnet to examine the areas magnetic anomalies. Again many ufos were sighted in the area. One resident of the area used to perform lavation which many experts viewed and couldn't figure out. Some people felt that this area had a anti-gravity vortex that allowed this to happen. The question is, is a vortex something that effects the chemistry of our brains, causing us to get an unrealistic view of what is around us? It might be produced by some yet unknown fume from the Earth or some type of cosmic ray that can penetrate a certain area's atmospheric cover, or even some sort of wave that we don't know anything about. This could radically alter our perceptions. Having said this, the vortex in Arizona is said to be phonographic, how is this possible? It would seem to destroy any theory based on the three things I mentioned, unless there are different kinds of vortexes. Perhaps some day we will look at these things and just laugh because we will think how naive the people were back in the 21st century. |
