Have you ever been in a room somewhere and thought you saw something move out of the corner of your eye, but there was nothing there? This phenomena is a lot more common than you think. It has happened to every one of us at one time or another and some people claim that it is always happening to them. Sounds pretty creepy doesn't it? There are many different terms that are used to describe this. What you see is said to be Shadow people, Shadow men, Shadow beings and Shadow folk. Some say that this is a supernatural event while others think that there is a perfectly rational explanation for this.

Floaters are things that the eyes see, that seem to float across your field of vision. They can be due to an eye problem or even come from a quick transition from light to darker. If a so called floater was at the edge of your field of vision it might seem like you saw something move that really wasn't there. It is a shame that things don't seem to be that simple when we talk of Shadow people. It would be, except for the fact that some people have reported a feeling of overwhelming menacing coming over them when they see this and others have stated that the Shadow people have actually chased them and that they had to run for their lives to get away. So what does a Shadow person actually look like? Almost all of the descriptions of them are just that, shadows, dark shadows. They are usually adult sized, but on rare occasions there are child sized shadows also. No features can be seen of any kind and sometimes the shadows are more like blobs than anything that is recognizable. It is believed that Shadow people are being seen much more than ever. Recently the U.S. and several other countries have been experimenting with invisibility, which is the absence of light on a subject. The idea is that a person can wrap themselves in a material of some sort and light would flow around it making the person in the material invisible. So far we don't hear much about bending visible light around things since the armed forces are more interested at the moment in bending things like radar waves and such to make planes and vehicles invisible to radar. It is not out of the question therefore to suspect that maybe they are also creating a sort of cape of invisibility, which would allow people to actually spy on you and you would never know it. Would they sometimes give off a shadow, maybe? We have been the focal point of constant ufo sightings over the years, could aliens be watching us that are hidden from our view? If they had the technology to travel to the stars would it be so strange for them to have the capability of hiding themselves from us? What about the often discussed time travelers? Could it be that a time traveler going into the past would not be able to materialize completely and would seem like a shadow to the people living there? Oh there are so many possibilities.

Some people are now claiming that they have seen Shadow people, not out of the corner of their eyes but straight on. If this is true, it is a dynamic change in the way these things were being observed. There are many people out there that believe that shadow people are ghosts, spirits of the dead that just can't rest for one reason or another. This would make them just another ghost story, but they seem to be much more exotic than just that. If you believe in ghosts, then you probably believe in things like demons. Demons are supposedly the creatures that come from hell and walk upon the Earth. Could Shadow people be demons? Here is something to really make you think, could Shadow people be beings that live in a different dimension from us, yet they share the same space as we do? I wonder how far we can carry this thing before our heads explode from the possibilities?

If they are time travelers, that would sort of annoy me. That would mean that I am really living in the past somehow, because they would almost certainly have to come from the future. When they are here that means I am an historical exercise and when they go home to the future that means that I am long gone. I just don't like the thought of that, do you like being in that situation? I guess I would prefer to think of them as either eavesdroppers from outer space or beings from another dimension, more than anything else. Why have Shadow people sightings increased over the last few years? Is it just the fact that more people are hearing about this and realizing that they have also seen things out of the corner of their eye? That Is what I personally think.

We, as humans, are either cursed with or blessed with the ability to form patterns. It depends how you look at this ability. We can look up at the moon and see the craters merge together into a face or other objects. One just has to wonder if this ability is what is causing all these Shadow people reports. Could we be seeing several shadows given off by furniture and things and merging them with our minds into a human type silhouette? This possibility always exists. It has also been said that we use a different part of our brains when we use our peripheral vision and this may be effecting what we see. Then there is our imagination. Some of us are a lot more imaginative than others. Some also have a higher fear factor than others. This doesn't explain the fact that some people state that they were attacked and had to run from Shadow people. It is an interesting mystery that ranks right up there with many others.

When all is said and done it just might turn out that a good Ophthalmologist just might be the answer for us.
