What is a secret society? Webster's dictionary defines it as "any of various oath-bound societies often devoted to brotherhood, moral discipline, and mutual assistance". Most working stiffs wouldn't know much about this, they are too busy trying to earn bread to feed their families, but the rich and powerful know only too well about secret societies. Many of them belong to at least one of these organizations. When you say secret society many of us automatically think of the Masons. While the Masons try and keep their ceremonies secret, the existence of their organization is quite well known. It may be that the most important people in government and industry are all members of the Masons. Even George Washington was a mason. Many believe that it is quite beneficial to become a mason and I am told that they have have a secret signal which alerts another mason that they belong to the society. If several people in an organization are up for a promotion and the boss is a mason, then the applicants that are masons have a much better chance of getting the promotion than the non masons, except if the masons are complete idiots. Many people believe that this country was founded on the principles of Christianity but one has only to look at who signed the declaration of independence to see that this is not true. Many of the signers were Theists and Deists. In other words they believed in the existence of one or more gods or believed in human reason over traditional religion. The prevailing thought process of many of the signers was not Christianity but Freemasonry.

For an organization to be truly secret, it should be unknown to everyone except to those who belong to it. There may be rumors of the organization existing, but proof should never be found, that way deniability can be maintained. One such organization that is rumored to exist, but which has not been able to be proved so far, is the Illuminati. Supposedly this society was formed in Bavaria by a former Jesuit named Dr. Adam Weishaupt in 1776 and here is the mysterious thing about it. It was a secret organization formed inside another secret organization. Supposedly this secret organization was formed inside the Masonic Lodges in Germany. This created a super secret organization that people are still trying to investigate today. If this is true, then the stories about them are probably true. These stories tell of a society that is so powerful that it has tried to overthrow governments. Are there any people in our government that belong to this secret society, who knows? It is said that the people that rule the Illuminati come from the class of the super rich and super powerful, so rich and so powerful that you won't find their names listed with the super rich. It is said the the ruling council consists of 2 members from the U.S., 1 from Canada, 3 from France, 1 from Spain, 1 from Austria, 1 from South Africa and 1 from Great Britain.

Yale is one of the most prestigious universities in the world. Supposedly a secret society exists on campus called The Order Of The Skull and Bones. Some of the most prestigious people in the world belong to it. What is it's purpose? Some say that this organization has one main function, to ensure the success of all it members after they graduate college. Since it is a secret organization it is hard to know exactly what is going on there but we can see some of the famous people that have belonged to it in the past and even those that belong to it today. Some of it's members were and are, Harriman, Rockefeller, Goodyear, Vanderbilt, Bush, Taft, Jay, Kerry and many others. When Bush was interviewed on Meet The Press, he was asked about the society and said that it was secret and couldn't comment. John Kerry was also asked about it and he said it was secret. How many more in government belong to this organization and why is it so important to keep everything about it secret? Could it be that we would not like what we hear about it?

In 1888 William Wynn Westcott, who was a mason, decided to form his own secret society. It is named The Golden Dawn. It supposedly is a group that operates on magic. The group states that it is a branch of a German Rosicrucian Order. Masonic rituals are used that have been expanded upon. Ten degrees exist that are based upon the degrees of the Sephiroth. There are exams and rituals that determine if one is to move up. Supposedly a higher intelligence is in contact with the leader and this intelligence directs the occult group. Some people say that there is another secret organization that is truly a world shadow government. I say that if this is true, they sure have done a lousy job. Of course, I look at things from my point of view which doesn't include building wealth for certain people at the expense of others. This secret organization is called The Trilateral Commission. It was founded by David Rockefeller, who by the way, is named as a very important member of several secret organizations. It's supposed purpose was to form a strong alliance between the U.S., Western Europe and Japan. There are those that say it is nothing more than a binding between the upper classes all over the world in the guise of an alliance between nations. Many think that this organization is powerful enough to control nations and it cares first and foremost for the banking institutions above all else and will attempt to change the rulers of countries to accomplish it's goal of creating strong financial institutions and promoting wealth among the rich and powerful.

There are quite a few of these secret societies and organizations and I could go on at length, but as you know I try to keep it short and sweet. Who knows, maybe in the future I will investigate this topic further? What I find so fascinating about these secret societies is that they are geared to help members. Some say that indeed, members are obliged to help other members no matter what the problem is. I I know that I would surely hate to find out that terrorist and criminal elements were being helped by others just because they were members of the same secret society. Well we just have to hope that this is not the case. We believe that countries or maybe even the UN controls the world, but this may not be the case. It may be the secret societies that really do.
