Children's Memories of Reincarnation
Photo Source: Clipart.com Many people believe in reincarnation. It is said that if you could take a survey of everyone in the world on the question of reincarnation, more people would answer that they believe in it than not. I have no way of proving this, or even knowing if it is true, but I can say this, a lot of people seem to believe in it. Many stated reincarnation memories, or experiences, are dismissed completely out of hand by the experts. I am not saying that I believe in reincarnation, but I have seen so called experts dismiss many different things only to be proven wrong at some future date when irrefutable evidence turns up. Just think how many of these experts stated that man would never fly or it would be impossible to send radio waves through the air and collect them with an electrical device to produce sound. Even now the experts are saying that no one will be able to travel faster than the speed of light. Before it was no one will be able to travel faster than the speed of sound. This time they have Einstein on their side, but just maybe he was wrong. I hope so. When the experts state that people are having false memories of past lives or memories that were some how introduced into their minds by hypnotists, we all know that this is a possibility. The same is said to take place with alien abduction memory recall, but how do you explain young children that begin to talk of past lives without any influence? Many claim that young children retain more reincarnation memories than adults. They are too young to get it from reading or movies, could it just be something they heard in a story that was told to them? Some might say that this was the case, but how do you account for facts being verified and turning out to be correct? One researcher decided to try and trace a family from the facts that were given to him by a young girl. The girl was only of the tender age of 3 years old, but talked about her past life quite often. The researcher was intrigued. It seemed that the girl had loving memories of her past family life and they were vivid and didn't fade as happens in many cases. It all started when her father took her on a trip with him and when they passed a house on the road about 100 miles from were she lived, she became very excited and shouted "my house". She began to talk of a past life and gave many details. Her father decided to write down everything she told him. She talked about having an auto which was very unusual since the girl lived in India and having a car at the early part of the 1900s was almost unheard of there. She gave her former name and discussed her death in the hospital. She even talked of different events in her life. The researcher found that the home the little girl got so excited over, belonged to a very wealthy family. He couldn't wait to talk to the family and they granted his wish. It turned out that everything the child had said about her former life turned out to be true. Neither family knew anyone in the other. When the little girl saw one of the male family members she called out her pet name for him immediately. How did she know this, could there have been some other explanation? The researcher was now convinced that the little girl had lived before and she had been a part of this family. A very strange story indeed. Could there be a scientific answer for the little girl's memories of a previous life? Is it possible that somehow we acquire the memories of others through our genes and we don't realize it most of the time, but in rare instances they come to the forefront. We really don't understand an awful lot about memory but we are learning. Maybe, somehow, some people are able to tune in to the thoughts of others. Our brains are composed of electrical signals and maybe there are some people that can tune in to these signals without even realizing it. Children might be able to do it easier than adults for some reason. If this is possible and they do it while they are sleeping, they may develop memories, not memories of their own but memories that come from others that are accepted as their own. It is very possible for adults to have false memories and it is possible for children also. Sometimes pieces of dreams become accepted as real memories. This of course doesn't explain how certain facts come out that are later proven to be true except if they were garnered from an outside source and then dreamt about. Even memories of true events sometimes get confused. An example of this might be an event that took place where two people had an argument in their back yard. Years later it might be remember as an argument that took place in the house. This memory does contain some correct facts but also some erroneous facts. It is not my purpose to try and disprove reincarnation, I am just trying to show the different reasons, other than reincarnation, that might cause reincarnation memories. Could a child retain a memory of a conversation that it heard and subconsciously change it to a memory of it's own? It may be that children seem to have more reincarnation memories because their minds are like a blank book and soak up information. Maybe the fact that a child's mind hasn't been filled with the memories of everyday living yet make it more susceptible to suggestion. I think this is an area that needs more research. |
