The Japanese Guardrail Mystery
Graphic Source: Clipart.com

What is going on in Japan? Strange things happen from time to time in different places of the world, that doesn't make them any less strange. Sometimes what is happening is so strange that there just doesn't seem to be any explanation for it. It may happen that these strange actions stop just as suddenly as they started, never to be heard of again. One of the favorite scapegoats for these types of events is extraterrestrials. I find that very funny since we don't even have any solid proof that these creatures exist. They have been blamed for many strange events and almost anything that we don't have an explanation for. Even new technology, when it is first seen, is said by many to be the work of aliens that is reverse engineered.

Japan is witnessing some very strange events right now. It is nothing you would say is out worldly, as a matter of fact it it is effecting something that is quite ordinary, the metal guardrails that divide the highways. What could be strange about a guardrail? It seems that something is happening to these mundane objects. Pieces of sharp metal are jutting out of these guardrails all over the country. I am not talking about metal breaking off these guardrails, I am talking about sharp metal pieces that seem to be inserted into the guardrails. The Japanese government, as of the time of this article, has no idea how these sharp pieces got there. They are saying things like, could there be some secret internet campaign to do this all over the country? This seems to be absurd on the face of it. They are also wondering if cars hitting the guardrails could somehow be causing this phenomena The problem with that theory is that there would have to be dents where all the metal pieces appear and paint scrapings, but this doesn't seem to be the case.

It seems that these pieces were noticed because people began to get injured on these things, they are very sharp. The injuries are mounting and the government has even warned people to be on the lookout for these sharp metal strips. Can you imagine that something like a sharp metal strip sticking from a guardrail can cause a national investigation? You know that the problem has to be serious to get to that level. The size of the sharp metal strips usually range from 10 to 60 centimeters. Unsuspecting cyclists have gotten large gashes while merrily peddling their bikes past one of this guardrails and not realizing that something like a large knife blade was sticking out and just waiting to slash the flesh of someone's leg.

The government only discovered that they had a problem a week ago and that is when they began to count these things. So far they have found over 7,400 of the sharp metal pieces sticking in the country's guardrails and they aren't finished counting yet. As they find more of these things, they also find out that there are more and more people who were injured by them.

Some web sites are treating the Japanese guardrail mystery as a paranormal event. One even intimated that the spirits of the dead were responsible for the event. I find it a little hard to swallow that particular water melon. It seems to me that the dead have enough to do, such as hauntings and things, without having to plug sharp metal pieces into a railing. Yeah I am only kidding, but the absurdity of the statement about the dead just prompted a humorous reply. I could have went even further and said that obviously it was the Samurai dead that were doing it because of the sharp pieces of metal that they were using, but I resisted this inclination.

Will this mystery ever be solved or will it just stop happening? I guess that only time will supply the answer to this question. I do think that if it was an organized event, such as an event coordinated somehow through the internet, that the Japanese government would have found out about it by now. In this day and age it seems impossible to coordinate something like this through the net without being caught. Even if one government didn't spot the conspiracy, there are many others watching everything on the net every day and I am sure that one of them would tell the Japanese. The other obvious answer has to be that the Japanese Government knows all about this, but is covering it up for some reason. This seems strange for an incident of this type, so I just can't buy that in this case.
