Wondering

I have often been accused of wondering about things too much and maybe reading too much into an event. Am I really, or are other people taking too much at face value? A couple of years ago there was an airliner that went down over Long Island Sound. It happened during a naval maneuver. I thought that the evidence pointed to the fact that it was hit with a missile, after all there was a missile sized hole that went through both sides of the plane and there was residue on some of the seats that seemed to suggest rocket propellant. Some others felt the way I did but anyone that felt this way was made to feel stupid by the comments of the so called experts. By the way they never explained the hole or residue.

Many years ago, after reading several reports of reincarnation, I formed a theory that maybe some human memory could be passed along genetically, and we would never know about it, unless something triggered a memory. While this may sound very strange, it does happen. Bees know how to communicate with each other and tell each other where the tastiest flowers are located. Ants also communicate in a rudimentary way and some animals know how to walk at birth. When fish are born you don't see them sinking to the bottom of the ocean, do you? No they know how to swim right off the bat. My point was that what may have seemed like memories of a past life to some, may be true memories, but they may belong to someone else and these people only think that these memories are their own.

I look at the oil shortage in this country and I feel that there is no oil shortage. Some places state that we are putting about 40 percent of all imported oil into the federal oil reserve pool. This leaves 60 % of imported oil for us, or does it? Others are saying that we export about 30 % of our domestic oil to foreign countries. If this is true then we are down to a figure I can't calculate because I do not know the exact amount of oil we produce but for the sake of argument lets say it is about 40 percent of what we use. That would mean we are only getting about 40% more oil than we produce, plus or minus 5 percent each way.

The International Space Station is said to be a great achievement. I wonder, I wonder, I wonder! What good is it really? It and the shuttle which travels back and forth to the station use up the lion's share of the NASA's budget. Its like the station is there to give a reason for the shuttle to fly and the shuttle is there to service the station. If we didn't have the space station, we would lose nothing and gain huge amount of cash. We could conduct the few experiments that are conducted on the station either in the shuttle or maybe in a scientific satellite. Have you noticed that even with the shuttle we are launching many of our probes from Russia? That just shows you that the shuttle can't handle the schedule of launchings and the Russian launchings are probably way cheaper.

Drug companies are something else that I wonder about. We are always being told that we are getting closer to curing cancer. We know that the drug companies are doing everything in their power to prevent us from getting cheaper medicine. They are cutting us off from Canadian drugs, which by the way should be the same price as ours since they come from the same companies, they are charging us many dollars for a pill that is the same as one that is fed to livestock that costs the farmers thirty cents or less, and they are lobbying so fiercely that the last bill that was passed for Medicare, benefits them to the tune of 45 Billion dollars while doing nothing for us. Do you think companies like this would actually allow a one time cancer cure? I bet that they would rather develop a pill that would put people who have cancer on a maintaince program that requires taking at least one pill every day for the rest of their lives, after all folks, that is where the big bucks are.

I wonder why private companies are allowed under the law to accumulate and retain so much private data on individuals? Even a child knows that this is a dangerous thing. Why is it when big companies loose your data putting you at risk, that nothing is done? Its merely sorry, and on with business. Where is the government of old, the government that used to watch out for the rights of the individuals, the government that would break up monopolies and price fixing? Where did that government go?

The war in Iraq is something else that I wonder about. I wonder why you hardly ever hear about the wounded soldiers. Sure you hear that 4 were blown up in a road block or that 11 died in a helicopter that was shot down, but you never hear that 40 were wounded by a bomb or that 27 were hurt when a shell went off. I bet you didn't know that the amount of causalities in Iraq is averaging about 10 per day. Multiplying that figure times the amount of days we have been there gives you a very large number. This is a big country and people haven't noticed this yet because the casualties go to a military hospital on return and when they are let out into society that are all over the country. I guess it would be political suicide to let us know about this. But how is this being kept out of most of the newspapers and news casts?

I wonder why we haven't been told the true story on hybrid cars? Tinkers have found that if they plug in their hybrid cars for a short period of time, they can increase their mileage up to 125 miles per gallon of gas. Why haven't the manufacturers provided a plug for these autos or at least made it optional?

Religion is supposed to promote brotherly love, yet through the years more people have been killed in the name of religion than anything else. Why is it some religions teach that it is ok to kill people as long as they are a different religion? How can this be considered religious? This teaching has been going on since the beginning of religion.

Did you ever wonder why so many politicians have such utter contempt for us? How many times have they been caught saying things like thank God that the people are stupid or all people are idiots or some such thing. They have also said that it was a lucky thing that the average citizen has no idea how the lobbying system works in this country. Yep, many people we elect really have no use for us and they wanted to be elected only to feather their own nest and that was it. The lobbying system is a sort of take care of me and I will take care of you (wink, wink) system that reaches its ugly tentacles right up to the highest office in this country.

Then there are the ufos. Did you ever wonder what is really going on? Disbelievers say that ufos are either government test planes, atmospheric phenomena or misidentified aircraft. Believers say that evidence indicates that at least some ufo are not from this earth and they base this upon supposed maneuvers and speed that we can not attain, along with sightings. Did you ever wonder what the true story is and why people that say they saw a ufo are made to feel like idiots in many instances?

Why is it that the tax code favors the rich? Why is it that the rich and the large companies are against a fair flat tax where everyone pays the same percentage? Why is it that this type of bill has never been passed? I'll let you use your imagination on this one.

I wonder what happened to cold fusion, it was supposed to revolutionize power production, could it be that it would have make nuclear weapons easy to produce that is why we don't hear about it?

Well so much for wondering about things. I could go on and on, but I would only tire myself out and put you to sleep. I wonder what's for lunch?
