Ancient Humans

We humans are very curious about our ancestors. This can be confirmed just by the number of people that are trying to trace their family trees, but our interest in those that came before us doesn't stop there. We are constantly trying to trace history back to the first humans. We are making more and more progress in this area but it is very difficult. It is hard to find evidence as we go back further and when we do find evidence, not all the scientists agree on what they have found. There is constant disagreement over the age of things like structures and even footprints.

The Valsequillo Basin, in Mexico, is a case in point. Deposits were found, that in the 1960s and 1970s, showed that humans were in the area a very long time ago. It was suggested by the original discovers of the site that humans inhabited the area as long ago as 22,000 years. This certainly is quite a while ago, but some scientists didn't agree. Guess what they dated the deposits at? Can you believe they dated them at some where between 240,000 and 360,000 years. How can there be such a huge difference of opinion? The type of ash that footprints were found in is extremely hard to date. The problem is that an eruption produced the material with the footprints in it and that material was composed of many different elements. Another team of scientists suggested that humans were in the area 40,000 years ago. If any of these scientists are right it still changes the history of North America since up to now, it is believed that human habitation only goes back 11,500 years.

Moab, Utah is a place that is resplendent with rocky cliffs. One can find sandstone containing dinosaur prints because the stone itself was mud at one time. If one were to travel a mere 23 miles from Moab they could see an actual dinosaur track site. Humans were in this region thousands of years ago. We can see signs of their presence everywhere. Apparently the early humans enjoyed drawing on the rocks and their art work can be seen on the sides of cliffs and on rocks. Some time later more advanced humans moved in the area and built structures, some of which still exist to this day. We don't know what they were really like, but we do know who lived there from about 1 A.D. and these were the Freemont people and the Anasazi people. They were all gone by 1275 A.D. Around 1200 A.D. the Ute Indians moved into southeastern Utah.

Australian archeologists have uncovered the largest collection of ancient human footprints, the area contains the prints of about 124 humans. They are very old and believed to be between 19,000 and 24,000 years old. The area that the prints were found in was at one time a muddy layer of silt and clay. The area itself is an ancient lake basin. The footprints were not found by archeologists but by a aboriginal woman who was in that area in 2003. It is interesting to see how the age of the prints was determined. Scientists shined a laser light on grains of sand above and below the footprints. The light returned was measured for radioactivity and that is how the age of the prints was calculated. These prints were not the earliest evidence of human habitation in the area however, stone tools were found that date back over 40,000 years ago.

Strange footprints have been found in Glen Rose, Texas. Why do I call them strange, because they were made by giant humans. The Paluxy River flooded during a torrential rain fall and swept over it's banks. This is usually just a dry riverbed for several months of every year. The water exposed the footprints. Some of he human footprints are over 15 inches long and it has been calculated that the humans that made them would have to have been over 8 feet tall. The footprints were made in mud that has turned to stone. Here is the best part, other human footprints are over 21 inches long meaning that the person who made them was over 11.5 feet tall. Was there a race of giants that lived on this earth that has disappeared? Next to these print were dinosaur prints. Could humans have lived at the same time? If they did, wouldn't it stand to reason that they were bigger, after all, the animals were all bigger? Tracks of humans have also been found BELOW tracks of dinosaurs.

Supposedly trilobites existed way before most other creatures, yet human tracks have been found next to trilobite fossils in the same stone. This would make man extremely ancient, even older than the dinosaurs. This discovery was made at Antelope Springs in Utah on June 1, 1968. When a rock was broken open a human footprint was inside and a trilobite fossil was INSIDE the footprint. The size of the human footprint was 10.25 inches long. Later on, another footprint was found in the same are, it was that of a child. Finally a footprint of a sandal was found. All these prints were found in Cambrian strata, this is the oldest fossil bearing strata on the planet. Could humans have lived billions of years ago? Maybe we are the third or fourth time around. It is possible that we have wiped ourselves out several times or that natural disasters have killed off most of the human race before.

We are constantly talking about the chance of the earth being hit by huge rocks from space. How many times would this have happened in several billion years?

Scientific opinion has been proven wrong so many times over the centuries and as far as the time when humans first appeared on this planet, it could be wrong again. It is so hard to find evidence of anything when you are trying to look back billions of years. Add to that the fact that many scientists and archeologists are set in their ways and would ridicule anyone stating that they found evidence of human habitation from a billion years ago. This must have been the way scientists felt hundreds of years ago when they were trying to prove that the earth revolved around the sun. Some of them were even killed for their ideas.
