Have you ever noticed that sometimes something seems to be out of place in time? It might be a model airplane that was found in an ancient Egyptian tomb or a battery made from pottery that is 3000 years old or even a clock driven computer that was found on a 3000 year old Greek ship wreck. These thing are too hard to explain, but sometimes things of even greater proportions are found that make no sense at all. A building built in the shape of a pyramid was discovered in China in 1998. The building is located in west China's Qinghai :Provence. But China has many ancient buildings so you wouldn't think that finding another ancient building would be earth shattering. This find is not of just another ancient building, there is a twist here. The building, which is near the city of Delingha, is located near the shore of a two lake complex. The lakes themselves are unusual in that one is fresh water while the other is salt water. The structure is slightly less than 200 feet high. If you go inside you will notice that the floor is about 6 feet off the ground. There are three entrances into this structure, two are blocked by rubble. The reason this structure is so unusual is that there are iron pipes coming and going throughout the building. Some go into the lake and some into the ground. No machinery is visible but the building is so ancient that there should be none. There are more pipes that go into the mountain behind the building. The Chinese analyzed the material the pipes were made of, from rusty pieces that were laying all over. The strange thing is that they can not account for about 8 percent of the material in the pipes. The rest of the material is common except for the ratios used. The pipes contained ferric oxide, silicon dioxide and calcium oxide. The nickname for the structure is the ET relic. Some scientists have claimed that the structure was some sort of landing and takeoff area for ufos. This is quite a silly conclusion considering there is much more of a chance that it is some sort of ancient water or heating plant. When the pipes were analyzed all that was told the public was that they were very old. One can't help but come to the conclusion that the Chinese may not have known that iron was being produced this far back in history. Indeed the structure is more like a cave inside and is being reported as having three triangular openings to caves. The building itself is actually on Mt. Baigong. Since the age of the structure was not released by the government the building becomes even more mysterious. The area that the building was discovered in is not one that is very habitable either. There is not much there now, except for herdsmen, but it might turn out that the building is so ancient that the climate might have been different when it was constructed. The People's Daily has described the smallest pipes as being the thickness of a toothpick but not blocked inside. Why would anyone in ancient times need a pipe that was only the diameter of a toothpick? Things seem to get more and more mysterious. So now we have iron pipes that may have been manufactured at a time when iron manufacturing was unknown and it was done with such a precision that they were able to create pipes the width of a toothpick There is one thing about this area that must be stated. It is very suitable for observatories because of it elevation and thin air and there happens to be one there. Now here we are two years later and nothing more seems to have been said about this find. Nine Chinese scientists were sent to investigate it but their reports are no where to be found. The site was found when dinosaur hunting American scientists came across it. Some Chinese say that the Americans thought the pipes were over 300,000 years old but that they actually tested as about 5,000 years old. But even this is something when you consider that this is thousands of years more than known smelting. The news about this site seems to have dried up. There were three entrances to the pyramid with two of them being collapsed. Could something have been found in one or both of the blocked caves? This is the type of story that is so interesting that you hate to have to leave it while you are just dying for answerers. There is really no more to say about the structure only that I hope an answer to its function and true age will be forth coming. |
