Aurora The Flying Black Triangle

When last we talked of Aurora, the rumored secret project that produced the fastest plane in the world, we had talked about its speed. This may have been grossly under estimated. Recent detections of a contrail, the exhaust plume of a jet plane, have been found by a weather satellite that extend from area 51 through China and indicate that a vehicle was traveling in Excess Of 8,000 mph. Could this have been the trail of an Aurora plane? It certainly seems that it was, since if it wasn't an Aurora, then we have something else that is even faster. Trails have been found in the sky that indicate that the Aurora has a pulsed jet engine. This is indicated by a trail that reminds one of an evenly knotted rope. The trail is a straight wispy line then a small explosion type cloud, another straight wispy line then another explosion type cloud and so forth. Another piece of evidence, a sighting of a triangular plane in 1989 might indicate that the Aurora is triangular and has been around for awhile now. If you tie this in with sonic booms a few years later that were heard from area 51 to California without a plane being seen, you might have had a fully tested Aurora by then. We know that the Blackbird or SR-71 which replaced the U-2 could fly at over 100,000 feet and faster than Mach 3 which is 3 times faster than sound. It stands to reason that the stories that are coming out about the Aurora being able to go into earth orbit or maybe into space itself have a very good chance of being true. It looks like the Aurora is the first space fighter.

So where did we get the name of the plane if the plane is so secret that it is claimed that it doesn't exist by the government? The story is actually quite strange. When the budget request was submitted for the SR-71 in 1995, the name Aurora was mistakenly put in instead. Ever since that day, most people have believed that a plane called the Aurora does exist. Actually the speed of planes has been increasing at a great pace. The first jets were planes that hit a top speed of about 500 mph or less. If you jump ahead to 1965, about 20 years ahead, top speed was about 2,000 mph. If the Aurora indeed has hit 8,000 mph and we don't know if this is even its full capability, that would be a 4 fold increase since 1965 and 1965 was a four fold increase in speed over the speeds of 1945. It doesn't sound unreasonable if looked at it from this point of view. Remember we have developed the air spike which can make a sort of energy shield over the nose of a plane and create any shape we desire. Some say that this is also an incredible heat shield making those pesky tiles obsolete.

It is interesting to note that there have been many sightings of black triangle like craft in the skies lately. Could it be that not only does the Aurora have the ability to fly fast, very fast and very high, but it has other capabilities that allow it to also fly slow, very slow and very low? Could it also be a plane that has Harrier like attributes such as vertical landing and hovering? This would certainly account for the many sightings of black triangular aircraft that seemed to drift above the ground only a few hundred feet up traveling at a slow velocity. It might even be silent in that type of mode. Submarines have a silent mode, why couldn't a plane be developed that has one also? If we do have such a plane can you imagine what it must have cost to develop? The estimates that I have seen are from $10 billion dollars to $24 billion dollars. I personally think that it might have even been more than that. The implications of such a craft are enormous. If the Aurora exists, it has made every other fighter plane in the world obsolete. Maybe obsolete isn't even the correct word. Maybe I should say that it has rendered the entire concept of jet planes useless and replaced the concept with a space plane. The rest of the world must be furious at the thought, specially the former Soviet Block and China. They must feel that until they get one of these things, they are entirely vulnerable. I would have to say we have to watch out now for spies more than ever before. We all know that it will just be a matter of time before other countries develop space planes of their own.

There are some statistics of the Aurora on the internet. I have no way to know if any of them are correct, but I will publish them anyway for your information. The length is claimed to be about 110 feet and the width 60 feet. The fuel is said to be LH2/L02. The type of propulsion is not really known but I will step in here and say, as I did above, that all the evidence seems to indicate it has a pulse detonation wave engine. Top speed is unknown but again I state that contrails have been found that indicate it has hit at least 8,000 mph. Top speed is Mach 6 in most current estimates, but some have said it can reach Mach 20 or 20 times the speed of sound. If we measure sound at 761 mph at sea level and multiply that by 20, we get a top speed of 15,220 at sea level. A more accurate measurement would be measuring sound at a height of 6500 feet. Sound travels about 660 mph at this height and would mean the Aurora would reach 13,220 mph at this altitude.

Can you imagine a plane zipping around that has a speed faster than any other plane by a factor of 5? This may spark a whole new generation of weapons, after all, it might be impossible to make a missile capable of shooting it down since the missile would have to be considerably faster than the plane.

Entries in the budget were found for the Aurora according to Aviation Week and Space Technology in 1990. In 1991 an arms control analysis, examining a Landstat photo, noticed three triangular aircraft sitting on a field at area 51. In 1992 observers noticed triangular shaped aircraft with a diamond pattern, set out in lights. Of course there are other delta winged craft that they could have been. From that point on there are many other reports of triangular shaped planes possessing tremendous speed being sighted.
